A Good Day!

This morning started out rocky, but after her chemo treatment and a 4 hour nap & several cat naps, Kolby woke up in a good mood. No throw up, no tears, and a few smiles. So, tomorrow we'll shoot for a short walk down the street. John made her favorite dinner...noodles in sauce and bread sticks. She ate the whole plate full. She didn't even complain when she had to take her meds. I am proud of you Kolby. Today was a good day! :o)

Tumbling Down!

Kolby and I fell asleep on the couch last night watching a movie. She woke up around 1:00 in the morning and wanted to go to her own bed. I got up with her and she took several steps and she just fell over and tumbled flat on the ground. Kolby cried so hard. She said she didn't have any control over her body and she couldn't stop the fall. I felt so bad for her. Her dad even woke up from the sound of the fall. He lifted her up and we helped her into her bed. She cried and cried. Kolby doesn't like cuddling. If I could I would sleep with her everynight just to make sure she was ok. She tells me that I need her more than she needs me...accompanied with a little giggle. But I cannot help but to want to take care of her....and oh how I wish I could take all this away from her. But instead, she let me tickle her back and arms until she fell asleep. It is heartbreaking watching your child suffer from pain and disease. I just pleaded with my Heavenly Father to take ...

Third day on the couch!

My poor Kolby doesn't have the energy to do anything. The last few days she has barely left the family room. Her weak body just wants to sleep. She wants to get up and shower but between the nausea and no energy, the couch wins! Tonight Blake and Lori Burr had a BBQ. We were planning on going all day, but after about the 10th time of her telling me that she was going to get up, I gave in and let her sleep. She asks me, "Mom, when am I going to feel better again"? Honestly, I do not know what to tell her. I watch her sleep. I look at my beautiful daughter and I wonder...and I think she should be out with her friends, swimming, going to the movies, and shopping. But no....instead she sleeps. I want Kolby to know that I am very proud of you. You are my hero. You have always been such an example to me. You are so strong even when you cry. You have such a positive attitude. Even when you feel sick you still have a sparkle of hope in your eyes. Your sisters and you a...

Getting Settled

From Dana (Facebook post) Here's a little update on Kolby. She doesn't have a very big appetite and she is having a hard time keeping her food down...but she is a trooper. I am still praying for smooth sailing throughout the year with the chemo treatments. Us Cramptons are staying strong and positive and we know that we are all in the Lord's c...are. I so appreciate all your comments. They cheer me up. Thank you!

Home Sweet Home

From Dana (Facebook post) Kolby is home!!!! After her first treatment of chemo she started feeling better. Her fever broke and her back pain is managable. She has a long journey of recovery and treatment ahead of her. But we know she will make it. Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. Our family couldn't have made it without all your support. We are very blessed.
