Kolby has had a busy week. She baked with her sisters and helped me make homemade strawberry jam. Kolby loves to bake. She just loves the holidays and everything about it. We can only listen to Christmas music and watch Christmas movies. Her favorite movie is Elf.
Kolby told John and I that she was really happy because after her chemo treatment she hardly felt any side effects. Except fatigue. She had chemo a week ago. She went to the doctors yesterday and all her numbers were good. She is doing really well. She was told that she was going to have another round of body scans in January...so here we go again...a little nervous and excited to hear the results. We are just so lucky and blessed to have Kolby feeling and doing so well, especially during the holidays.

I took Kolby to the mall today to get a few things for Christmas. She wanted Panda Express for dinner. She told me that she is always hungry and she cannot eat enough. (Kolby has always had a small appetite, especially during her treatments). She said that the last couple days she cannot eat enough. She ate all her panda, and she usually only eats half. She told me she is worried she'll get fat. (Highly unlikely!) The doctors told her that during treatment that this is common, and that some patients get quite plump due to the side effects of the steroids, but not to worry and this was normal. Kolby goes through stages of craving certain types of foods, and then at other times, nothing sounds good. Kolby...enjoy the holidays and eat as much as you want! I am sure glad you are feeling so well.

  1. Just a note- I love your blog and am glad to hear Kolby is feeling well! However, it can be really hard to read with the light grey lettering against the white background- maybe a darker color for those of us with not so great eyes? Stay well!

  2. We LOVE Elf too!!! Such a great Christmas movie! :) I'm glad you're able to eat and enjoy it. Eating out of necessity when you're feeling sick and miserable is no fun, so I'm totally happy you're actually wanting stuff!!!!! I love that Panda Express picture ;)

Father's Day

Today was a great day for our family. Kolby went to church. It was a challenge , but it was really important for Kolby to go to church today with her dad. She got up, got ready and she looked beautiful. I really wish I would have taken pictures of the girls with their dad, but we were in such a hurry to get off to church that I forgot. Next time I will for sure. She was pretty emotional at church. It was a lot for her to get ready and go to church for the first time in a while. She wanted to arrive a few minutes late, and leave a few minutes early. It is really hard for Kolby to see people, only because of all the different emotions she is feeling right now. She gets very emotional when people hug her and express their love and support. She loves it, but right now, she cries every time she has a new visitor or sees people. So, please do not get offended if Kolby is quiet when you see her or visit with her. It's just how she is right now, and that's ok . Everyone deals wit...

A little note from me, Kolby.

I want thank Kristi and Kylie for designing these T-Shirts. At first I didn't want my name on the shirt. I really do not like having the attention on me. But, after I saw them I really liked them. Thank you Kristi and Kylie. Also, thank you so much Vicki and Dale for making the t-shirts, you did a great job. I just love them. Thank you!!! This has been really hard on me. I wish I felt better and I want my healthy body back. I miss hanging out with my friends and doing the things I like. I also do not like it when I feel sick. The blisters in my throat and mouth are gone right now, but when I take chemo again I know they will come back. It has been nice feeling good these last few days. I haven't had to have chemo this week because of the scans. It is such a good feeling to feel good again. I never really appreciated my healthy body till now. The chemo makes me feel horrible. I have no energy. I feel nauseous all the time and I get horrible headaches. They hurt so bad. I get s...

A Very Generous Gift!

Brinley Truman, an eight year old girl in our ward and a dear friend of our family over heard her parents discussing Kolby and their desire to make a donation to "Keeping Kolby." Brinley asked her parents, Tom and Taralee, what they were talking about and Taralee explained to Brinley that they were going to donate money to the Cramptons because they wanted to show them that they love them and also because all the medicines and procedures that Kolby has to have cost a lot of money. Brinley told her parents that she wanted to give her money too. She went into their kitchen, climbed on the counter and got her money off the top of the fridge. When she got down she handed her mom 5 one dollar bills, 4 nickles, and 7 pennies. Her mom told her that she didn't have to give her money and that they would donate money as a family and Brinley said, "No, I want to use this!" Taralee told her that she should keep her money since she doesn't get money very often and they d...
