This morning started out rocky, but after her chemo treatment and a 4 hour nap & several cat naps, Kolby woke up in a good mood. No throw up, no tears, and a few smiles. So, tomorrow we'll shoot for a short walk down the street. John made her favorite dinner...noodles in sauce and bread sticks. She ate the whole plate full. She didn't even complain when she had to take her meds. I am proud of you Kolby. Today was a good day! :o)
I just caught Kolby updating her sticker chart. I cannot believe that it is almost filled in. She is so excited, and she is in such a good mood. Her spirits are high and she is feeling fantastic. She only has two more chemo treatments left, and seven more weeks of weekly doctor appointments. Kolby hasn't been missing as much school, and life for her seems to be slowly but surely going back to normal. There are even days that we do not talk about "cancer"! She is busy right now coaching Powderpuff Cheer. She has been a busy busy girl. I just love seeing Kolby so active and wanting to do more and more. Woo-Hoo!
Hi Crampton Family -
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled onto your blog while checking up on the Trumans and their blog :) What a wonderful way for you to document this journey and keep others updated on Kolby's progress.
I am so thrilled that today was a good day. What an encouraging post! I pray that the good days will soon outnumber the bad.
Kolby and your sweet little family are an inspiration to all! We love you dearly and share in your heartache on the bad days and your joy and hope on the good days.
With Love,
Leah Whipple and Family
Dana! You are SUCH a pro! I LOVE that you're posting and letting us know about the yummy dinner John makes! Seriously better than the Del Taco we scored. So glad to hear that you're having a good day, Kolby! and here's to many, many more of them.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad this blog has been set up. I'm not sure if you guys even know me that well, but I knew Kristie and Kylie in HS. And we all were in the WS stake and saw each other at camp and school and such. Anyway, glad to see today was a good day. Be strong, Crampton family. Many prayers are being sent your way. :)
ReplyDeleteKolby,
ReplyDeleteI'm a distant cousin. We just heard from my parents and wanted to let you know you're in our prayers. May God bless you and the family, and provide you comfort and strength.
God Bless,
Rob J
Dear Johnny, Dana & girls...especially Kolby!
ReplyDelete"Consider it pure joy...whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."
~ James 1:2
This bible verse has served me well many times!;) We know all too well how hard life can be rocked through childhood illnesses such as cancer. We appreciate a blog like yours because it gives us not only a window into what direction this journey is taking your family...but also allows all of us some direction for specific prayers for you. Kolby, my young girls and I will follow your blog and without a doubt learn about your perseverance, your courage, your resiliance, and your faith in God. What a blessing you will serve to others. WE LOVE YOU!
